We love Mississippi!

The organization's current focus is to provide nutritional support to families and children across the state. The programs are designed to promote healthy eating habits that have been found to improve a variety of conditions: school performance, reduction of antisocial behavior, and generating life-long patterns that result in inclusive well-being for the whole family.

More than 20 years ago, a small group of Mississippi community change agents came together.
The goal was to see Mississippi become a premier destination for families to live and work. We have partnered at national and local level to promote community, economic growth, and improved health and wellness. Southern Foundation has gained invaluable insight over years through it's interaction with supporting needs of children and families through out the state. This insight allows us to consistently improve programs to better encourage self-sufficiency and sustainable independence. Combined efforts of those in the community will help preserve and maintain family structures across the state.

Capacity to Serve

52

Counties

Since 1999

For the last 5 years, Southern Foundation for Homeless Children (SFFHC) has ensured that children and families throughout the state are provided balanced meals. In addition, the organization has implemented the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) with the capacity to serve all 52 counties across the state of Mississippi. SFFHC has worked closely with state and local stakeholders as well as the USDA to ensure the implementation of this program is a success.
