SFFHC PROGRAMS

Optimism means seeing opportunity even in the most challenging circumstances. At Southern Foundation for Homeless Children (SFFHC), we design effective programs that strengthen families, nourish communities, and create pathways to long-term stability.

Our Impact & Partnerships

SFFHC’s success is made possible through strong partnerships with local companies, organizations, and collaborations with DHS. Our staff and volunteers take great pride in supporting these collaborative efforts and remaining responsive to the evolving needs of the communities we serve.

Hillside Garden Project
Approximately 30 percent of children in Mississippi live below the poverty line, compared to 16 percent nationally. Many of these children enter foster care not due to neglect, but because their
homes fail to meet basic safety and housing standards.

Our mission is to keep families together by addressing the root cause of this issue: unsafe housing. Through targeted home renovations, we create safe, sustainable living environments
that allow children to remain with their parents and prevent unnecessary entry into the foster care system.

Our goal is to complete repairs on at least fifty homes within an eighteen-month period, ensuring each meets local housing standards. To date, we have successfully renovated six homes. Each completed project represents a stabilized family, protected children, and a stronger community.
